Opus Land spend £10 million on construction during August alone….
As the company progresses through its 20th year we have paused to reflect on where the company currently stands. We are pleased to report that, against a political backdrop of uncertainty, Opus Land is somewhat bucking the trend and is busier than ever. In August alone the company spent over £10 million on construction of the projects on which they are currently on site. These projects equate to nearly 1,000,000 sq.ft. of accommodation currently under construction including:
- 440,000 sq.ft. comprising a highly bespoke B2 facility for Meggitt PLC in Ansty with a further 150 + acres of prime development land available for occupiers;
- 120,000 sq.ft. of B2/B8 industrial facility just 1.5 miles away from Junction 2 of the M5 in Oldbury, a market starved of quality accommodation;
- 135,000 sq.ft. of B2/B8 industrial facility directly onto Junction 10 of the M42;
- 300,000 sq.ft. across 2 units of B2/B8 at Kingswood Lakeside, Cannock fronting onto the M6 Toll reaching practical completion shortly.
The team are also busy finalising legals on a further three developments across the commercial sector to come forward in the near future alongside working through the planning process on many others. We believe it is Opus Land’s detailed and sensitive approach to development that ensures that the company continues, well into their 20th year, to go from strength to strength working with long term partners on the journey.
RETAIL: Stove Works Retail Park, Royal Leamington Spa
Opus Land and Savills Investment Management purchased a brownfield site, which was formerly a Ford Factory car park and obtained planning for a 60,000 sq. ft retail space, located just 0.5 miles from the town centre and 15 minutes’ walk from the train station.
INDUSTRIAL: Prospero, Ansty
Together with their joint venture partner, Manse LLP, and on behalf of Rolls-Royce, Opus Land are delivering more than 2 million sq. ft of space at Prospero, Ansty, starting with a 490,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility for Meggitt PLC.
WAREHOUSE: Conneqt Alpha
Opus Land and Bridges completed an 153,800 sq. ft unit with 16 loading doors at the Kingwood Lakeside Business Park in Cannock.
OFFICES: 54 Hagley Road, Birmingham
A 160,950 sq. ft multi-let office, three miles from Birmingham city centre which underwent a comprehensive refurbishment programme by Opus Land and was sold for £24.25m.
