Opus Land appoints John Griffiths in new development role
Opus Land is delighted to announce a senior addition to their team with the high-profile appointment of John Griffiths.
John has most recently headed up the Midlands Development Team for Savills. Prior to that, he was a founding Director of leading niche agent, GBR, and has previously ran the JLL Birmingham Office and headed up the agency team at CBRE.
John will join Opus Land with effect from September 2020 in a move that highlights their ambition to increase deal-flow and capitalise on opportunities during a period of inevitable market adjustment. John’s recent experience with re-purposing, as part of his mixed-use development role at Savills, brings a very relevant skill to the Opus Land team at this time.
With over 30 years of experience, John has been one of Birmingham’s highest profile office agents, although more recently his focus has been on mixed use development and regeneration. He has been involved in some of the region’s highest profile developments and has considerable expertise in structuring development agreements and joint ventures.
At Opus Land, John will be focusing on mixed use and residential opportunities, including PRS and student accommodation. As part of the role, he will be seeking opportunities for Opus Land to collaborate with institutions, landowners and public sector agencies.
Despite the current climate, Opus Land has remained very active in the market, and John’s hire demonstrates their continued growth and commitment to unlocking new opportunities.
John commented “I have known the Opus Land team for many years and have worked closely on projects with them in the past. I am really excited to now have the opportunity to join them and work client side. 2020 is a real watershed year in so many ways, but Opus Land can continue to play a pivotal role in property investment and development across the Midlands and I’m thrilled to now be part of their story”.
